Cross the Gavia state road and take the small road that goes down towards the river. Cross it over a bridge which takes you to the opposite side of the Gavia Valley. You'll soon reach the abandoned building of the Gavia mountain hut (2541 m). From there take the footpath which goes up in a diagonal towards the northeast and runs along the northwest slopes of Punta della Sforzellina. It brings you to the promontory at 2637 m adn enters the Dosegu Valley. Go down to the bottom of the valley and , without crossing the river, continue over morainic ground to the plateau at the end of the valley below the serracs of the Dosegu hanging glacier. Now go right to the base of the squat western ridge of Cima di Vallombrina (around 2800 m). Continue on, going past two successive glacial lakes at teh foot of the small glacier below Dosegu Pass. Now go south, gradually making an arc. Go up over detritus to where a ridge crosses an old military path. Follow the path towards the left to get to the watershed arete at about 3140 m of elevation. From there continue on the military path, keeping to the ridge and heading northeast till you come to the mountain hut.
