From Sondrio go up to Montagna and take the road (open to private vehicles but also passable by normal cars using caution) that takes you to Alpe Mara 1749 m. The road continues as a 4wheel- drive road closed to traffic, along the flanks of Dosso Bruciato and Dosso Liscio. It crosses the Davaglione and brings you near the mountain hut.

To Corna Mara 2807 m.
Route: The trail begins just before the mountain hut and goes up over pastures to the grassy lower part of the southwest ridge of Corna Mara. Come to the ridge and turn left (north) crossing a rocky basin to go up the steep grassy slopes that take you onto another ridge parallel to the first one. Along the path among grass and rocky outcroppings, you'll arrive at the top (E/EE; 2 hrs).
