Place of departure: Tartano, which can be reached by turning right off the Stelvio SS 38, 6.3 km after Morbegno (18.3 km from Colico and 113.3 km from Milan) in the direction of Sondrio. The Val Tartano road comes to the town after 15 km.

Trip to the lakes and Porcile Pass. (E; 2-3 hrs). From Arale 1485 m follow the path that is the logical path to take. The path goes up in a long diagonal, keeping left of the river. After a tract through the woods, you'll come out near the Bianca alpine hut 1624 m. Continue the climb towards the southeast and cross the bridge over the river which originates at the confluence of the two minor waterways that come down from Cima Vallocci 2510 m. Now the trail curves gradually south and another part through the woods, comes out at the grassy hollow of Casera di Porcile 1809 m. Continue towards the right to get to the Lares alpine hut 1900 m. Then you'll turn left onto a trail that quickly arrives at then crosses the small river that flows from the smallest and lowest of the lakes 2005m. Pass this lake and the second one (2030 m), which is slightly east above a small slope of grass and rock outcroppings. the third lake (2095 m), near which an alpine hut is located, is south above the rocky slope that overlooks the second lake. From there climb over grass and detritus towards the southeast to get to the saddle of Porcile Pass at 2290 m.
