Two small but strategic departure points for alpine climbing and ski mountaineering trips in the Pizzi Palu-Pizzo Varuna area. Lie near the Alp Grum station of the Retica railway on the Tirano-Bernina Pass tract, slightly uphill from the basin of the Palu Alps on the southern side of the pass.

From Tirano or Poschiavo via the Tirano-Bernina Pass-St. Moritz line of the small Retica train.
Hiking Access: From Bernina Pass (2307 m) go down to the train station below and follow the small road that goes along Bianco Lake. You'll reach the southern shore of the lake on a nice path. From here ignore the path for Sassal Mason on your right to go down into a small valley and, following the railway on a nice trail come to Alp Grum (T; 1 hour).

To Bignami mountain hut 2385 m, first part on a trail and then on the glaciers of Vadret da Palu and the eatern hanging glacier of Fellaria (F; 6 hrs).
To Anghileri-Rusconi 2654 m (E; 4 hrs and 30 min).
To Selva around 1450 m (T/E; 5 hrs).
