Altitude gain: 850 m.
Time: 3 hours
Difficulty : E = (Hike) route on a well-marked, easy to follow trail or footpath. Requires suitable equipment and fitness level.
 
Access:

From Montespluga, go south on the SS36 for about a kilometer to the beginning of the viaduct. Take a left onto the unpaved road that follows the lakeshore before the viaduct. At the bridge over the Suretta river the C14 trail begins. Go up towards the left of the river which flows along the valley until you come to a flat part of the trail where the river divides into two branches. Soon after cross the left branch and begin going uphill by following several curves. After a last diagonal towards the right, you'll come to a ground moraine where the Suretta Waterfall, which feeds the right branch of the river, originates. Go uphill towards the left, going around the mound of the moraine at 2726 m. CNS and from here you can see the southern part of the Suretta Glacier. Head northwest and you'll come to the biouvac.

 

Traverse:

To mountain hut Bertacchi 2196 m. over Suretta Pass (EE; 3 hours)

 

Climbs:

Pizzo Suretta 3027 m. along the southern side (climb over a snowfield; crampons and ice tool useful; 1 and 1/2 hours; PD).
Pizzo Spadolazzo 2720 m. (F; 2 hours)
