After Trivio di Fuentes (Colico) along the State Road 36, come to Novate Mezzola (10 km from Fuentes). Just after the square at the train station, take the road on the right which ends up at Mezzolpiano (316 m). Here you'll find the entrance to Val Codera on the right orographic side of the valley (the right side when facing down valley) and the beginning of the A6 trail. Climb the ascending switchbacks along the dry southern side of Mount Avedé. Then enter the valley over a gentle slope to come to the village of Avedé at 791 m (1 hr and 15 min). It's located among chestnut trees on a small meadow with a beautiful vieew towards Novate and Como Lake. From here the track descends at a zig zag to cross the wide valley in front of the town of Codera (825 m), which a short ascent brings you to (rest stop). continue on to nearly flat ground and follow the long, monotonous base of the valley. Pass by a damn and the nearby Saline Alps (1045 m). Go past the houses at Stoppadura over level, grassy terrain among larch trees. The track comes to Bresciadega (1190 m), from where, among meadows and spruce woods, you'll soon come to the mountain hut.

To Bresciadega mountain hut 1214 m (E; 30 min).
To Pedroni-Dal Prà bivouac 2600 m (E; 3 hrs).
To Valli bivouac 1900 m (E; 2 hrs).
To Omio mountain hut via Ligoncio Pass 2575 m (E; 4 hrs). From the hut follow the A9 trail to Valli bivouac. From here go left (N), to under the part of the ridge that links Punta della Sfinge (distinguishable by its impressive, huge northern side) and the NW edge of the southern slope of Pizzo dell' Oro. The trail comes to the base of the grassy spur that extends from the north-west edge of the southern side of Pizzo dell'Oro and goes around it on the left. Follow along the spur, cross a rubble covered gully (snow) and come to the beginning of the actual rock wall of the arete. By way of an exposed ledge, ascend by traversing in a diagonal towards the right to the saddle of the pass. From here go down, first in a wide yet small valley covered with bolcks of rock (snow) and soon after to pastures. Cross these, heading north-west to come to the mountain hut.
To Gianetti mountain hut via Averta Pass (E; 4 hrs and 30 min - 5 hrs). From Brasca take the trail at the bottom of the valley for a short way and soon after the -Coeder alpine hut, turn right onto the A10 trail, which ascends the steep, wooded slope. Once out of the woods, cross narrow pastures towards the center of Averta Valley to Averta alpine hut (1957 m). Following the signs over ever rockier ground, leave the turn off for Oro Pass on your right and instead head slightly left to a large gully (snow at the beginning of the season) which leads to the furrow in the northern ridge of Cima di Barbacan. From the furrow, a short steep descent over grass and rock crags takes you to the Risari trail in Val Porcellizzo. Through this valley, head left and come to the mountain hut at 2534 m.
