From the parking lot below the Gera damn (2070 m) go over the top of the damn wall and follow the left hydrographic shore of the lake (left of the direction of waterflow) on a trail cut into the rock. Ignore the path that goes right into Val Poschiavina and take the trail on the left which goes over the Poschiavina pass. Climb a hill and zig zag down a steep, loose slope. Continue along the last part of the artificial basin. From here you can see the waterfalls that come down from the Fellaria glacier. After a cross, you'll arrive at the Gembré Alps (2224 m). From here ignore the signs for the trail that leads to Bignami mountain hut to take the trail on the right that goes steeply up a grassy "step" to the edge of the first high level area (2407 m) dominated on the north by Cima Fontana. Continue east and pass a second area of loose rock, narrow pastures and lichen-covered mounds which leads to a second flat area. Cross this and you'll soon come to the bivouac.
