To Santa Maria in Calanca. It's the begining or end part of the Calanca Alpine Trail. From the hut, go up to Buffalora Pass at 2261 m. Cross the northwest side of Cambiando Nomnom over tracts with protection to a furrow at 2420 m. Cross over to the other side of the valley and continue down over a small gully that has protection. Carry on downhill over very steep slopes, passing the deep gully of Ri de Ris at about 2300 m. Continue over meadows to the abandoned mountain pasture of Aion Vecc (2093 m). The trail always heads south over the slopes of Piz Groven and Molinera to l'Alp di Fora (equipped hut) at 1844 m. From this point, the trail leads to the Plan Renten Pass (1914 m), and takes you onto the southern side of Val Mesolcina to the village of Santa Maria, where the descent begins. Come to l'Alp Nadi (1383 m) and, after a tract that passes through the woods, continue on a drivable road. Just after a fork in the road on the left, take the trail that leads to the hamlet of Dasga (1063 m) and then to the town of Santa Maria at 955 m (7 hrs; EE).
