when it's open:
Open from the beginning of April to the end of November. The custodian is present from the end of June to the end of October. Open by reservation from December to March.

Altitude gain: 900 metri
Time: 3 hours
Difficulty : E = (Hike) route on a well-marked, easy to follow trail or footpath. Requires suitable equipment and fitness level.
 
Access:

From San Jon take the trail that enters Val Lischana going west. The trail goes up along the left orographic bank of the river (left when facing downvalley). Then at the bridge (1703 m) the trail takes you to the opposite bank and over a lot of steep zig zags to get to the hut.

 
Winter access:

Traverse:

To Schutzhutte Sesvenna (I) (EE; 5 hrs). From the hut follow the marked trail that goes up towards the south to 2862 m. Then go towards the southern ridge of Piz Lischana and climb up it to 3044 m. The trial proceeds downhill, passing below the southern slopes of Piz Curtinatsch and Piz Rims then goes up to Slingia Pass (Italian - Swiss border). After it descends into Val Sesvenna and takes you to Schutzhutte Sesvenna at 2256 m of elevation.

 
Climbs:

Piz Lischana 3105 m (EE; 3 hrs). From the hut follow the trail that goes east, heading for the southern ridge of Piz Lischana. The marked trail goes up near the ridge to the top.
